The Assembly: How We Got Worship Wrong

This series of seven videos springs from the discovery that the New Testament does not use worship language to describe church assemblies or to describe the purpose of those assemblies. The seven presentations spring from Dr. Wadsworth's 45 years of study of the topic, culminating in a PhD dissertation that explores the topic in great depth. Wadsworth contends that the modern church concept of "worship services" is a significant shift from the assemblies of the New Testament era. Further, he says that the "worship service" concept gradually emerged by the fourth century. The primary problem of the worship approach is that it greatly hinders Christian growth and development.
