Lo-debar = no pasture. Where the sinner is until found by God " s free grace.
sent, and fetched. This is the action of grace towards the "lost" sinner. Compare Luke 15:4, Luke 15:5
Mephibosheth. Born in 965 (2 Samuel 4:4). Now seventeen, and father of a young son (2 Samuel 9:12).
thy father's sake. So with God's grace to us; not for the sake of the lost one.
Saul thy father = Saul thy grandfather.

a dead dog. Self-abasement is ever the result of grace shown.
I am. So the sinner is concerned about what he is, rather than what he has done. Compare Isaiah 6:5. Luke 5:8.
Mephibosheth. Note the Figure of speech Epanadiplosis (App-6) in this verse: being repeated at the beginning of the next verse.
was = he was.
